چکیده

Of the numerous enzymes existing in multiple molecular forms (isozymes), lactate dehydrogenase has been studied the most extensively. The studies include both clinical and biological investigations on a wide range of tissues and species.1-5 The role of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in the glycolytic pathway is well known; that is, it mediates the transfer between lactic acid and pyruvate, using nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD +) as coenzyme. The isozymic patterns of LDH in certain tissues have been shown to be related to the development of those tissues.6-8 Information on the presence of this enzyme in the tooth, therefore, may provide an insight into the enzymatic mechanisms responsible for the morphologic and chemical changes occurring during the development of the tooth. Recent histochemical investigations9-12 have shown the presence of LDH in the tooth but do not give either quantitative information on the amount or information on the isozymic composition of the enzyme, or both. This study, therefore, was designed to determine the types and amounts of lactate dehydrogenase in developing mouse molars during dentinogenesis and amelogenesis.

Gene Expression Profile Analysis during Mouse Tooth Development

Introduction: Complex molecular pathways involve in development of different tissues such as teeth. Differential gene expression patterns during teeth development generates different tooth types. Teeth development results from interactions between oral epithelium and underlying ectomesenchyme cells with neural crest origin. Teeth development are regulated by different signaling networks. In thi...

Lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes in dental pulp of rats according to stage of root development.

The objective of this study was to present a classification of the root development stage of female rat molar teeth and to evaluate the variation in the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity and electrophoretic isoenzyme profile according to the stage of root development of the molar teeth. We also studied the LDH activity and isoenzymes of the pulp of incisor teeth. The stage of development of ...

Estimation of Lactate Dehydrogenase Activity in cerebrospinal fluid in different types of meningitis

Objective: Meningitis is life-threatening condition and examination of the Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) may not give a precise diagnosis and prognosis of different types of meningitis. Bacterial meningitis is still a very common problem especially in many developing countries. The aims of study are to estimate the importance and significance of Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH), protein...

Automatic classification of highly related Malate Dehydrogenase and L-Lactate Dehydrogenase based on 3D-pattern of active sites

Accurate protein function prediction is an important subject in bioinformatics, especially wheresequentially and structurally similar proteins have different functions. Malate dehydrogenaseand L-lactate dehydrogenase are two evolutionary related enzymes, which exist in a widevariety of organisms. These enzymes are sequentially and structurally similar and sharecommon active site residues, spati...
